2. Praveen Kumar – 124 mtrs
Five of the biggest sixes in IPL history were hit at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, a ground that is 934m above sea level. It is the highest of the regular venues used to host matches in the IPL. A ground that witnessed the Gayle storm when he smashed 175* off just 66 balls.
Praveen Kumar is probably not a name that most cricket lovers would expect to see on a list of the biggest sixes in IPL history. However, with his RCB side in a dire situation at 78/6, the fast bowler showed some of the more established batters in the line-up how to go about things. He performed brilliantly for RCB in 2008 and saved his side from many dire situations.
Praveen Kumar smashed Yusuf Pathan for a massive 124m six over long-on against Rajasthan Royals. He then took on Shane Warne with a couple more meaty blows. RCB would go on to lose the match but Praveen had at the very least given themselves a total to bowl at and saved his side from a shameful defeat.
