2. Bringing KL Rahul at no.3
Over the years, KL Rahul has shown his flexibility to contribute at any batting position. With his skill of playing out the swing bowlers well in the powerplay overs, Rahul can construct the innings and help the team post a strong total on the board.
In the first game against the Titans, Rahul could not open his account, while his fellow Karnataka teammate Manish Pandey was dismissed on six. The team management might be thinking about sending Rahul in at number three, and keeping Manish in the same position to provide experience and stability to the team in the middle overs.
In the 10 T20I innings at number three, Rahul has garnered 265 runs. On the other hand, Pandey has 767 runs in 34 T20I innings while batting at number four for India. Looking at their fine performances in these batting positions, it is expected that this move will be in the right direction.
