2. Wanindu Hasaranga – 30
As impressive as Hasaranga was with his wicket-taking abilities, the only bit that went disappointing was the number of sixes that he conceded. The Royal Challengers Bangalore spinner played 16 matches and gave away 30 sixes throughout the league stage and playoffs.
Having conceded 430 runs this season, Hasaranga gave away 180 runs through maximums. The Sri Lankan international was one of the finest bowlers in the RCB camp this year, as he provided his side with important breakthroughs whenever the team got struggling.
Hasaranga put up a brilliant fight for the Purple Cap but fell short of just one wicket, ended up picking 26 wickets, as he had a better economy compared to Chahal. He ended the season with the best bowling figures of 5/18 against Sunrisers Hyderabad and was the reason behind RCB’s good run. While Chahal led the charts, Hasaranga left no pages unturned this season.
