One of the highest paid uncapped players at the mega auction, Shahrukh Khan was bought back by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for a hefty price tag of INR 9 crore from a base price of a meagre INR 40 lakh. His consistent domestic performances and big-hitting finishing abilities were in high demand but he is yet to set the IPL alight.

However, Punjab would be hoping that changes quickly. In his limited opportunities, he has just managed 60 runs in five matches, including two single digit scores and an underwhelming strike rate of just 120. Having already had a couple of collapses, Punjab would need their finisher to turn up and take some responsibility to justify his price tag.

Although the Punjab management shouldn’t be sweating on his form yet, they would want their match-winner to show a glimpse of his domestic circuit performances in the IPL soon. Shahrukh Khan will hope to replicate his domestic form in the IPL sphere in the coming games and justify the price tag.
