1. Liam Livingstone (PBKS) – 117 meter
One of the finest T20 players going around, Liam Livingstone had been impressive in the other franchise T20 leagues but had faltered in the IPL. In five matches of the last edition, he scored only 42 runs for Rajasthan Royals (RR). With his impressive performances for the England national team, Livingstone got an expensive contract for the 2022 season from Punjab Kings (PBKS).
He regained his top form as the season progressed and was the backbone of the team in the middle order. In this pursuit, the 28-year-old hit the longest six of 117m in this season, which stunned the commentators, crowds, and the cricket fraternity. It all transpired in Match 48 between PBKS and Gujarat Titans (GT) at DY Patil Stadium.
PBKS just needed 27 off five overs in a chase of 144. In the first ball of the over, Livingstone was terrific to connect Mohammed Shami’s good length ball and hit it towards the square leg boundary, which hit the roof of the stadium. In the same over, he hit two sixes and two fours to finish the game for the team.
