The left-arm pacer from England, Tymal Mills has been a successful bowler in white-ball cricket. In the BBL 2021/22, he picked up a total of 12 wickets in seven appearances. Soon, his services were availed by the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2022 mega auction.

In his debut fixture for MI, he finished with figures of 1/26 against the Delhi Capitals. He then returned with 3/35 against the Royals, which was his best performance this season. In the subsequent fixture against Knight Riders, he picked up two wickets by giving away 38 runs. His performances could not win the games for the team but he was hailed due to his wicket-taking ability.

But, his next two appearances fetched figures of 0/37 and 0/54 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) respectively. Hence, he was dropped from the side and was replaced by the Australian pacer Riley Meredith.
