IPL 2022: 5 players who have made a strong case to be part of India's T20 World Cup squad
India will be eyeing to lift their second T20 World Cup title in Australia
4. Thangarasu Natarajan
Thangarasu Natarajan is popular for his effective death bowling skills. He is one of the rarest fast bowlers who can consistently hit the yorker length. The 31-year-old got limited opportunities to represent India but has proved that he belongs to that stage. The last time he featured for India was in the 2021 T20 series against England.
The left-arm pacer missed the majority of last season’s IPL due to injury. He has shown great bowling displays and bowled some really tough spells so far this season. In six matches, the Tamil Nadu bowler has picked up 12 wickets at an economy of 8.67 runs per over. His wicket-taking ability both with the new and the old ball makes him different from an ordinary bowler.
His best performance of the season came against KKR, where the pacer picked up three wickets and gave just 37 runs in four overs of quota. Natarajan, who picks wickets at regular intervals for his team, managed to restrict the opposing team’s batters to score big totals on many occasions. If he continues the same performances throughout the season then it would be difficult for the selectors to overlook him from the T20 World Cup squad.
