5 players who are making a strong case for themselves for T20 World Cup with performances in IPL 2022
1. Hardik Pandya
Team India’s star all-rounder has shown tremendous all-round performances in this season of the IPL. Pandya, who made himself unavailable after the 2021 T20 World Cup to regain full fitness, started the IPL 2022 with a bang. In five matches, he scored 228 runs with an average of 76. Besides, he has also scalped four wickets at a decent economy of 7.57 runs per over.
The Baroda all-rounder was appointed captain of the new franchise, the Gujarat Titans (GT). As captain, he led his team from the front as they lead the points table. Along with batting and bowling, the ace allrounder has impressed many cricket pundits with his field placements and bowling changes.
Recently, while batting first against the Rajasthan Royals, the flamboyant all-rounder has slammed unbeaten 87 runs from 52 balls. With a strike rate of 167.30, he scored eight fours and four sixes. Pandya will look to continue his form in the same way and his performances will definitely pay him a ticket to Australia. With India still in search of a pace-bowling all-rounder, Hardik has made a strong case to make a comeback to the Indian side.
