IPL 2022: 5 players who returned to their former franchises after mega auction
Some players brought in the mega auction will be heading to the franchises they played earlier for.
3. Karun Nair
Karun Nair, the talented stroke maker from the state of Karnataka who is responsible for gifting batters like Rahul Dravid to the Indian team is mainly known for triple hundred against England at Chennai in 2016.
However, he also made a reputation for himself in the IPL for his ability to score runs quickly and take on spin bowling. Nair mostly warmed the benches when he was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore for two years. He represented RCB in just two matches in 2013 and then he was picked by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2014 season. The move immediately reaped rewards as Karun, part of the top-order, struck three fifties in his maiden season for Rajasthan Royals where he amassed 330 runs at a strike rate of 142.24.
Nair was picked up by his former franchise with whom he has good memories (Rajasthan Royals) for INR 1.40 Crores after a brief bidding war with the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Kolkata Knight Riders.
