4. Good Indian talent with less dependency on overseas players

The Play-bold army will not depend too much on overseas players this time as they did in the previous years. RCB has quality Indian talents across all departments and this can very well be the key to their success in this year’s edition. Royal Challengers Bangalore have invested in young talents like Anuj Rawat, Shahbaz Ahmed and Akash Deep, a decision that has reaped rewards so far.

While Rawat showed his batting abilities in the last fixture against Mumbai Indians, all-rounder Shahbaz has played a couple of handly knocks in the lower order. Akash Deep has also been terrific with the ball so far and is getting better with each passing game.

Besides, they also have experienced Indian cricketers in Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik, Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel. The 36-year-old Karthik has been a star addition to the line-up and has already made his presence felt with a couple of breathtaking knocks. Last year’s Purple Cap holder, Harshal has also resumed responsibilities in the middle and death overs and has done a spectacular job so far. Mohammed Siraj has also shown good intent with the ball, although, he has been a bit wayward in the death overs.

With no additional responsibilities, Kohli has also looked in rhythm and it seems like he has come past the dismal form. He has played a couple of 40+ innings and will hope to convert them into big scores in the upcoming games.
