4. Varun Chakravarthy (KKR)
Another KKR retention who has failed to impress, Chakravarthy had done really well bowling in tandem with Narine in the past few seasons and was understandably one of their retentions.
Now capped and in major contention for the T20 World Cup, there were a lot of lofty expectations from the mystery leg spinner. However, Varun managed to take just four wickets in the first eight matches at a high economy rate and was subsequently dropped for three matches.
As KKR face a do-or-die situation, they would have a lot of expectations from the 31-year-old who has got back into the side. Having picked up a wicket and being economical on his return, Chakravarthy would be looking to have a say in the race for the playoffs.
