In every T20 side, the fans wish to have a wicketkeeper who can destroy bowling attacks. This trend was created by the legendary Adam Gilchrist and MS Dhoni. Since then, the game has witnessed several wicketkeepers who are destructive batsmen. Quinton de Kock tops that list.

In 77 IPL games, the South African has scored 2256 runs and he is one of the finest wicketkeepers in the game as he can put on match-winning performances. Since his debut, he has grown as a player on every occasion, be it on the field or off the field.

A strike rate of 130.93 shows that he does not waste too much time settling in. He can play the role of an anchor as well. Although he looked a tad off colour in the second leg of IPL 2021, he is expected to stage a comeback.

As MI have decided to release him, let us see which teams will be eyeing to buy Quinton de Kock in the mega auction:

1. Punjab Kings

KL Rahul was the wicketkeeper for the Punjab-based franchise in 2020 and 2021. He scored runs for them, captained the side, and guarded the wickets as well. The management might steal a deal if they manage to sign de Kock in the mega auction.

This is mainly because he can score runs consistently and keep wickets as well. Adding on, he can be a part of the leadership group along with Mayank Agarwal. His addition will surely boost the strength of the lineup.

Punjab has to leave a mark in the mega auctions. With de Kock being a proven performer, they might find themselves in an auction battle with a few other teams to buy him. Even if they manage to buy him for around INR 8-10 crores, it will be a good purchase.
