There’s no doubt that the Aussies and the IPL share a very healthy relationship. Amongst all of the top eight international teams, Australia is the hot place from where many of IPL’s overseas entities arrive.

Now for over the years, leagues like the BBL, CPL and PSL are termed to be the auditioning platforms for an IPL ticket. Also not to forget that the scouting troops of many IPL teams strenuously survey these competitions to find the untapped diamonds available inside the rough.

In return for the uncapped players from around the world, the IPL also becomes a penultimate stage to unveil themselves globally before their international debut. For the Aussies, their commendable performances in the BBL has often rewarded them whopping contracts especially in IPL 2021.

Here are 5 uncapped players from BBL 2021-22 who can be hot picks in IPL 2022 mega auction:

1. Josh Inglis

Josh Inglis, the wicket-keeper batter, is already a 2021 World T20 winner. The 26-year old from Western Australia was a well-deserved backup for the frontline gloveman Matthew Wade in the mega event. In recent times, Inglis has been a run-machine whether it’s been the white-ball cricket or the red-ball affairs.

In the BBL, Inglis has been in operation since its seventh season. Last year, the cricketer had also smashed a total of 413 runs at an average of 34.42 in his 17 games. Even in terms of his entire BBL record, Inglis has scored a total of 941 runs at an average of under 30 along with a strike rate of 143.45.

As a hard-hitting batter, this Australian can flexibly occupy any position from lower-middle order till the top. In a general sense, the IPL teams that have tried players like Josh Philippe can see Inglis as his contemporary. All in all, the franchises which will target overseas wicket-keeper batters like Sam Billings and Matthew Wade might show a similar interest for this young Australian.
