India is a country full of colours and festivals. We are a fun-loving nation that loves cricket, in fact, we celebrate cricket. We play cricket in our “maidans and mohallas”, discuss cricket when hanging out with friends, check live scores in offices stealthily, argue over our favourite players, and occasionally shed tears of heartbreak and once in a while tears of joy too! Cricket is in our blood! And like MS Dhoni once said in an event that “we Indians thrive on emotions.”
All these emotions get elevated as soon as India’s biggest cricketing festival, that is the IPL (Indian Premier League) kicks off. Especially, when the stadiums are jam-packed with passionate fans, cheering hearts out for their teams, and that’s when you see some creativity flowing on hilarious fan-made banners. This IPL 2022 edition is no exception to these hysterical placards. We searched for the most hilarious and the most talked-about ones. So, here are some of the most hilarious banners from this season till now.
Here we look at the 6 most hilarious banners of IPL 2022 so far:
1. “IF HARDIK HITS A 50, I’ll Resign From MY JOB”
On 11th April 2022, when Gujarat Titans were playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai, a fan with a pretty daring placard got the attention it deserved. He wrote, “IF HARDIK HITS A 50, I’ll Resign From MY JOB”. And guess what, Hardik indeed scored a fifty, it was like adding insult to injury.
Hardik’s effort went in vain as his team lost to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 8 wickets. Albeit, the Gujarat Titan’s skipper has been in terrific form with the bat and has made some major contributions by bowling crucial overs at the death. The likes of Shubhman Gill, Mohammad Shami, Rashid Khan, and David Miller have solidified the Gujarat squad.
We are now at the halfway stage of the league and Gujarat Titans are handsomely sitting right at the top of the points table. They have lost only one out of their 9 games. Legends of the game like Harbhajan Singh, Graeme Swann, and Wasim Jaffer have showered praises for Hardik Pandya‘s captaincy. The Gujarat Titans seem to be a strong contender for the IPL 2022 trophy in their inaugural IPL season.
