Kolkata Knight Riders’ all-rounder Andre Russell’s mammoth shot during the net session on Tuesday (April 26) left a hole in the chair. The Caribbean is known for his power-hitting skills in the game as he holds the ability to finish off the game for his side whenever in need. In a recent training session, he smashed the ball so powerfully that it left a vent in the chair.

Russell has showcased his abilities with the bat many times while representing the KKR in IPL. He acts as the team’s survivor and saves the day for the side whenever they seem to be struggling. Though he has not been in form in the past few games, his shots at the net session portray a totally different story, suggesting that the megastar is all geared up and is keen to help his team get over the line with his batting.

In a video shared by the franchise, it is seen how Russell’s ball hits the chair and breaks it in order to create a hovel in it. The video has gone viral on social media with the fans eager to see such kind of batting from him even on the field.

KKR are placed eighth on the points table in IPL 2022

Andre Russell is the second-highest run-scorer for his side this season as he accounts for 227 runs in seven innings that he has played so far with a strike rate of 180.16 and an average of 45.40. KKR are struggling to jump places on the points table as they have now suffered four back-to-back losses. They’re placed in the bottom four of the points table, at the eighth position with six points.

They had a great start to the tournament and impressed one and all, but they have not been able to carry on the momentum. All their strategies and plans have failed in their previous couple of games. In their last game against the Gujarat Titans, Russell took over the bowling department for the last over, and scalped four big wickets, conceding five runs.

His final over proved to be very effective as KKR were able to restrict GT during the death overs to stop them at a par total. But KKR batters failed to chase it down and as a result, all their efforts were in vain. They’ll now take on the Delhi Capitals on Thursday (April 28) evening and look for some redemption.
