IPL 2022: Best overseas XI from the fourth week of the tournament

With the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) going on, the fans have already witnessed some extraordinary performances from the players. The fourth week of the tournament has been a treat to watch. It has proved to be the week of batters as we saw some brilliant batting performances this week. From Jos Butter’s scintillating century to David Warner’s fiery knocks, the batters have dominated the fourth week. We saw some brilliant performances from the bowlers as well, including Josh Hazlewood’s dominating four-wicket haul against the Lucknow Super Giants. As the tournament moves forward, more rousing performances are sure to be witnessed. On that note, we take a look at the best overseas playing XI from the fourth week of the competition. Best overseas XI from the fourth week of IPL 2022 1. David Warner David Warner. When it comes to hard work, he is one of the most engrossed players on the field. His fierce form has given strength to the hopes of the Delhi Capitals getting into the playoffs. His quickfire knock of 60 runs against PBKS powered Delhi home after the brilliant performance by the bowlers. He also played a crucial knock of 66 runs off just 38 balls against RCB but lacked support from the other end. Although Delhi lost that match, his knock helped the Capitals to maintain their net run rate. The southpaw is proving to be a fruitful buy for the Delhi Capitals. He along with Prithvi Shaw is one of the strongest opening pairs in the tournament so far. He has become the second top-scorer for the Capitals this season after only playing five matches in the tournament so far. Delhi Capitals will be counting on him to take them home as they are eyeing their maiden IPL title. 2. Jos Buttler Jos Buttler. He is one of the batters who can destroy any bowling attack and can take his side home on his own. Buttler has been in heavenly form in this edition of the cash-rich league so far, making his way into the best overseas XI for three weeks consecutively. Buttler has been the linchpin to the Rajasthan Royals squad in the tournament so far, taking the attack to the opposition bowlers right from ball one. He smashed a blistering century against the Kolkata Knight Riders earlier this week, destroying KKR’s bowling attack single-handedly and backed it with another hundred against Delhi Capitals. He is proving to be one of the best openers in the tournament so far. Buttler was retained by the Rajasthan Royals at a whopping price of INR 10 cr and he has proven the decision to be worth every penny. He has been the top scorer for RR as well as the Orange Cap holder in the tournament so far. 3. He has played crucial knocks for RCB in this edition of the cash-rich league and has led the team from the front. After being the second-highest run-scorer in the previous edition of the IPL, he is carrying the same form this year too, smashing the bowlers all around the park. His crucial knock of 96 runs off just 64 balls against the Lucknow Super Giants proved to be the match decider after a severe collapse in the top-order. His inclusion in the team has given strength to the top-order of the RCB batting line-up. He has proven himself to be a fruitful buy for the RCB with his contributions to the batting unit. The Royal Challengers will hope Faf du Plessis to fire all cylinders and take the team to their maiden IPL title this season. 4. David Miller David Miller. He is performing splendidly for the debutant Gujarat Titans in this edition of the cash-rich league. Miller scored a vital 94* off just 51 balls and powered GT home after the top-order collapsed. They were on the verge of defeat against CSK, but the seasoned campaigner snatched away the victory from the defending champions single-handedly. He has lived up to his reputation and is currently looking in the lethal form at the lower middle order. Miller was an integral part of the Rajasthan Royals squad in the previous edition of the IPL. He is proving to be a worthy buy for the Gujrat Titans as well, giving their batting order the much-needed impetus in the middle order. GT will be hoping for him to continue his rousing form and power the team to their maiden IPL title. 5. Liam Livingstone Liam Livingstone. Livingstone has scored some crucial runs and has been leading Punjab Kings’ batting in the tournament so far. He scored a rousing 60 runs off just 33 balls which propelled PBKS to a respectable total of 151 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad after a top-order collapse. He has played crucial knocks earlier in the tournament as well. Carrying his dream run from the international matches, he is firing all the cylinders in the IPL too. He is a vital part of the England cricket team and proving to be a fruitful buy for the PBKS. His performance in the middle- order has risen the hopes of PBKS. The Punjab franchise will be hoping for him to continue the dream run and propel them to their maiden IPL title. 6. Jason Holder Jason Holder. He has a reputation for taking crucial wickets and chipping in with some quick runs. He has been playing decently for the Lucknow Super Giants in the tournament so far. Holder took the crucial wicket of Faf du Plessis in the match against RCB, who was destroying the bowling attack of LSG. That wicket helped the Super Giants to restrict the RCB to a total of 181 runs when they were looking in line to score above 200. Although LSG lost the match, their net run rate was maintained due to the tough fight. Holder has been performing constantly for his side in the tournament so far. He got off to the worst start and was left out of the playing XI but has broken the shackles now. He has given a glimpse of what he is capable of in the fourth week of IPL 2022. His four-wicket haul against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and proved his abilities. Although Mumbai lost their seventh game on the trot in the competition, his fierce bowling won the heart of the fans. Sams was bought by MI in wake of his match-turning abilities. After a disastrous start to the campaign, the Aussie cricketer is slowly getting his rhythm back. Mumbai Indians will hope Daniel Sams to continue the form as they desperately look to bounce back in the competition. 8. Sunil Narine Sunil Narine. He has been performing constantly well for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He has put on a fine show this week with the ball. His crucial two wickets against the in-form Rajasthan Royals slowed down the destructive innings of Jos Buttler who was hitting the KKR bowlers all around the park. Narine was also the most economical bowler in that match, giving away only 21 runs in his four overs at an economy rate of only 5.25 runs per over. Narine has been an irreplaceable part of KKR and has played only for them in his IPL career. He has produced numerous magical spells that helped KKR in winning the title two times. He is also a great hitter of the ball. KKR will be hoping for him to fire all cylinders and power them to their third IPL title. 9. Josh Hazlewood Josh Hazlewood. He joined the RCB squad late but bolstered their squad once he landed in India with consistent performance in the last two matches. His lethal four-wicket haul against the Lucknow Super Giants proved to be the spell RCB needed to win that match. Hazlewood is the second-highest wicket-taker for RCB in this edition with eight scalps in three matches. The tall and lanky fast bowler has also been economical, going at a rate of 7.17 runs per over. Josh Hazlewood is an integral part of the Australian bowling team, leading the bowling attack along with Mitchell Starc across all formats. He has proved himself to be a fruitful buy for the RCB in this edition of the cash-rich league. The Royal Challengers of Bangalore will be hoping for him to the up hi game and propel them to their maiden IPL title. 10. Alzari Joseph Alzarri Joseph. He is well known for his fierce deliveries and match-winning spells. He fared well in the only game has played for Gujarat Titans in the tournament so far. His two wickets against the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) proved to be crucial in their win. He dismissed an in-form Ambati Rayudu who was looking good on the crease and his wicket restricted the CSK to only 169 runs. He also was pretty economical in his four overs. Alzari Joseph is an integral part of the West Indies team and can turn the tides of the match with his bowling. He is proving to be a good buy for the Gujarat Titans. GT will be hoping for him to provide his support to their already powerful bowling attack, leading them to the IPL trophy. 11. Dushmantha Chameera Dushmantha Chameera. Chameera has performed well with the bowl in hand for the Lucknow Super Giants in the tournament so far. He took two crucial wickets against RCB which slowed their run-scoring. His dismissal of Virat Kohli was a crucial one as we all know how lethal the former Indian captain can be. Although LSG lost the match, his bowling restricted RCB to a reachable target, giving LSG batters a fighting chance. He is a vital player for the Sri Lankan team. He has proven himself to be a fruitful buy for LSG so far in the tournament, chipping in with wickets. LSG will be hoping for him to the up hi game and propel the side to their maiden IPL title.
