2. Devon Conway
The South African-born Kiwi batsman came into IPL as one of the most in-form players, due to his exploits for his national side. However, he has been in and out of the side so far. Nonetheless, he has managed to score 144 runs in the three innings he has gotten a chance to bat.
The first game that he played this week was against SRH where he created the highest opening partnership in IPL alongside Ruturaj Gaikwad. He scored 85*(55) consisting of eight fours and four sixes. His inning was instrumental in the side’s victory as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) managed to stop the juggernaut of losses, albeit for one match only.
Later in the week, came the match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) which has put a full stop to CSK’s playoffs hopes, effectively. However, the silver lining in that match was Conway’s effort with the bat. In pursuit of 174, Conway played a breezy 56(37) and kept his side in the hunt. However, his wicket opened the doors for RCB and they managed to knock the four-time champions out of IPL 2022.
