The fearsome striker from Lancashire may not have registered a high score in IPL yet, but his quickfire cameos here and there have always been impactful. Add to that his handy spin bowling options, thereby making him a complete T20 package.
He played only one game this week but made sure to contribute with both bat and ball. With the ball in hand, he picked the wicket of the dangerous David Miller. Chasing just 144, he managed to finish the match in just the 16th over, hence improving his side’s net run rate as well, which could come in handy later as the battle for playoffs heats up.
He scored his 30 runs in just 10 balls, with 28 of them coming in the 16th over against Shami. This over also included that famous 117m six. This year, Livingstone finally is living up to the hype that has been built over the years around his explosive strokeplay, and Punjab would be hoping for a lot more of such innings from him if they are to make it to the final four this year.
