IPL 2022: Best XI from the sixth week
Only 19 league-stage games are left in the tournament and the top four are yet to be decided.
7. Liam Livingstone (PBKS)
Punjab thrashed the table-toppers Gujarat Titans by eight wickets this week to stay alive in the race to playoffs. One of the major reasons for this victory was Liam Livingstone’s blistering innings. He scored 30 runs by taking only 10 deliveries while chasing. He also hit the longest six of the season, measuring 117 metre in this match.
Punjab had restricted Gujarat for 143 at the DY Patil Stadium and Liam also scalped the important wicket of David Miller. The Kings easily chased down the target in 16 overs. Liam came to the field with a plan. He finished the match in one over itself when 22 runs were needed.
Liam took charge of Mohammed Shami and hit three consecutive sixes. He finished the chase with two more boundaries and batted at a strike rate of 300. Liam is having a dream season so far with Punjab Kings.
