4. Sanju Samson (c and wk)
Sanju Samson had an excellent IPL 2022 in just his second season as captain of Rajasthan Royals, and he got them to the finals with some good moves. He used his bowling options quite wisely and was spot on in his field placements as well, with the guidance from Kumar Sangakkara in the dugout. Apart from his wicket-keeping skills, Samson made some decent contributions with the bat, but his strike rate was the key factor that made him a lot more potent. The right-hander amassed 458 runs in 17 games at an average of 28.63 and a strike rate of 146.79 and scored two half-centuries in the tournament. Samson has the ability to play big innings, and he can be one of the brutal hitters of the cricket ball on his day, given his gift of timing. His leadership skills this season make him the first choice captain of the side and he can play the role of a wicketkeeper as well, alongside batting at number four.
