The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are not only one of the most consistent and successful teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). They are also known to be immensely popular with their fans and followers. The defending champions will kick off their 2022 campaign on March 26 against the Kolkata Knight Riders in a rematch of last year’s title clash and as they began their training in Surat in Gujarat on Monday, March 7, fans queued up on the streets to catch a glimpse of the yellow brigade led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
In a video which the franchise shared from the training, Dhoni was seen walking into the Lalbhai Cricket Stadium in Surat which the team has selected in order to get familiar with playing conditions in neighbouring Maharashtra where this year’s IPL will be staged. Fans gathered around the CSK’s team bus as the players headed to the practice session from the hotel. One fan was even seen with the Super Kings’ jersey on the streets.
“Those eyes that smile with love give us the joy, everywhere we go!” CSK wrote while sharing the video of fans cheering the team in Surat.
