Chetan Sakariya was one of the breakthrough names in the last edition of IPL. As such, the left-arm pacer was expected to be a regular starter in IPL 2022. However, the former Rajasthan pacer managed to play just three games this season, as he found himself warming the Delhi Capitals bench.

Delhi Capitals already had a couple of left-arm pacers in their ranks. Khaleel Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman spearheaded Delhi’s bowling attack for majority of the season, and their inclusion in the playing 11 came at the cost of Chetan Sakariya. Probably, the young Indian pacer could have been better off, if he was a part of some other franchise.

For instance, Chetan could have earned more opportunities with Chennai Super Kings, or perhaps even with Lucknow Super Giants. The latter franchise have packed their left-arm pacer, Mohsin Khan this season, and it has reaped huge dividends for them.
