Captain of Senior Indian Team and Mumbai Indians in IPL, Rohit Sharma is known for his classic batting style and his capability to play big innings in any format of the game. He was in a good and sound batting form before IPL 2022. But things went completely south for him both in captaincy for MI and his own batting.

Talking about his captaincy, Rohit lost eight matches in a row which is not a record he wanted to be marked against his name. He shared this record of consecutive defeats with Pakistan captain Babar Azam who lost a similar number of matches during his stint as captain of Karachi Kings in PSL 2022.

Along with captaincy, Rohit also underperformed with the bat in this season, appearing in all 14 innings of the 14 games MI played. Rohit managed to score only 268 runs with a poor batting average of 19.14 without having a fifty or century to his name. The stats are not really like those which suit the batter of Rohit Sharma’s stature.
