The aggressive batter from Punjab has been playing IPL since 2010 still he is yet to prove his mettle in the toughest cricket tournament all over the globe. Mandeep has played 108 IPL games in his career scoring 1692 runs at an average of 21.42 and a strike rate of 124.32. Despite playing 95 IPL inning, he has managed to score only six fifties.
The right-hander was bought by the Delhi Capitals in the 2022 IPL mega auction. However, he failed to justify his selection whenever he got a chance to play in the XI. He has played three games this season and got out for a duck twice. Mandeep made 18 in one game that too at a poor strike rate. He definitely will have to level up his game to stay in DC’s playing XI this season.
Mandy got a chance to open the innings for DC in their game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He got out in the first over of the game by Bhuvneshwar Kumar for a duck off five balls. He is likely to make way for Prithvi Shaw whenever he gets fit.
