The English white-ball star Jonny Bairstow has not been in touch in IPL 2022. With his big reputation, Punjab Kings (PBKS) were seeing a match-winner in him. However, he has not executed any impactful knock this season so far and has copped a lot of criticism.

Punjab Kings played only one game this week against the table-toppers Gujarat Titans. Chasing 144 runs, Bairstow came out to open the innings with Shikhar Dhawan in place of the skipper Mayank Agarwal. However, the experiment didn’t work as the England cricketer managed only one run.

In IPL 2022, we have not seen the Bairstow we know. He has scored just 80 runs in seven innings at a very ordinary average of 11.43. He will have to hit the strides with the bat if Punjab Kings want to give themselves the best opportunity of making it to the top four.
