RCB posted a target of 174 for CSK to chase
Talking about the game, RCB were put in to bat first by CSK after MS Dhoni won the toss. RCB had a great start to the powerplay as the openers – Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli – took the game on a high note. CSK got the first breakthrough late in the eighth over when Moeen Ali dismissed the RCB skipper.
Glenn Maxwell and Kohli followed him next as they were dismissed in consecutive overs. The former had to walk back due to a run-out, whereas the latter was dismissed by Ali, who took his tally to two. Rajat Patidar and Mahipal Lomror steered the ship in the middle and the latter returned with 42(27).
RCB saw a collapse when Maheesh Theekshana picked up three wickets in the 19th over in the form of Lomror, Wanindu Hasaranga, and Shahbaz Ahmed. Dinesh Karthik’s finishing touch helped RCB take their score to 173/8 as the wicketkeeper-batter remained unbeaten on 26*(17). While Mukesh Choudhary, Simarjeet Singh, and Ravindra Jadeja went wicketless, Theekshana, Ali, and Pretorius shared six wickets between themselves as RCB posted a target of 174 to chase.
