Gujarat Titans, one of the two newly added teams, have unveiled their logo ahead ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise made some interesting picks in the mega auction that took place in Bangalore on February 12 and 13 and will be hoping that the players step up in their maiden season. Hardik Pandya is all set to lead an IPL team for the first time with Rashid Khan also part of the side.
Coming back to the logo, the Titans became the first Indian sports team to launch it in the metaverse. They also released a video of the launch in which interesting versions, head coach Ashish Nehra, skipper Hardik Pandya and batter Shubman Gill spoke to each other.
“Our DNA is about reaching the top and always moving upwards. There is Gujarat’s kite which is not just our passion but it larger than life. Our moto is to share energy and unlimited power. We stop at nothing,” the trio said during their discussion before the logo was unveiled in some style.

Gujarat Lions have assembled a decent squad
Meanwhile, in the auction, Gujarat Titans assembled a decent squad under the guidance of head coach Ashish Nehra. Apart from Rashid and Hardik, they had picked Shubman Gill ahead of the auction. In the main event, they shelled out some serious money for the likes of Lockie Ferguson and Rahul Tewatia. The team also made some smart picks securing services of Matthew Wade, David Miller and Wriddhiman Saha who can turn out to be bargain buys.
The Titans bagging England’s swashbuckling opener Jason Roy for his base price was arguably a steal deal of the auction and it remains to be seen how he performs in the IPL 2022. Apart from international stars. Gujarat also went for the domestic talent shelling a somewhat staggering amount for Karnataka cricketer Abhinav Sadarangani, R Sai Kishore who has done well for Tamil Nadu for the last couple of years.
Having picked 23 players in their squad, the Hardik Pandya-led side will be the one to watch out for along with Lucknow Super Giants who are also making their debut as a team this season.
