In a good news for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and its fans, all-rounder Deepak Chahar on March 26 (Saturday) has resumed net practice, indicating his return to the yellow army soon. To note, Chahar is at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for his eight-week long rehab after sustaining a injury while playing for India.
The defending champions will take on Kolkata Knight Riders to kick off the 15th edition of 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) on March 26 (Saturday) to be played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The match is expected to be thrilling one between last year’s finalists. Both teams will be under the leadership of new captains. While CSK will be captained by Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer will be leading the two-time champions.
In a six-second video uploaded on cskfansofficial on Instagram, the right-handed batter was seen hitting a clean shot. The post was captioned as ‘Guess Who?’ The right-arm-pacer was also seen rolling his arm over, not at full tilt, which are good signs for CSK.

CSK shelled out INR 14 crore for Deepak Chahar in mega auction
Deepak Chahar registered himself in the highest base price category of INR two crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction. After an intense bidding war against Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Rajasthan Royals, the four-time-champions bagged Chahar at a whopping cost of INR 14 crore. However, the 29-year-old suffered a quadricep tear during the third T20I between India and West Indies in Kolkata. The allrounder was also ruled out from the recently conducted series against Sri Lanka.
The Rajasthan cricketer has been one of the most consistent performers for the yellow army for the past few editions. Talking about his numbers in the IPL, Deepak Chahar has played 63 matches in which he has scalped 59 wickets at a decent economy of 7.8. The right-handed-batter also plays with a good strike rate of 138.6. As CSK start their IPL 2022 campaign on March 26, the yellow army will hope that he regains full fitness as soon as possible.
