Nitish Rana from Kolkata Knight Riders has been reprimanded and fined 10 percent of his match-fee for breaching the TATA Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Mumbai Indians at Pune.
Mr. Rana admitted to the Level 1 offence of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. Jasprit Bumrah from Mumbai Indians has been reprimanded for breaching the TATA Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Pune.
Mr. Bumrah admitted to the Level 1 offence of the IPL Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding. It is to be noted that the exact offence hasn’t come to the fore but the players have accepted their respective sanctions and have been fined accordingly.
Talking of the match between KKR vs MI, Mumbai Indians batted first where with the help of Suryakumar Yadav’s fifty (52 off 36) and brief innings by Tilak Verma (38 off 27) and Kieron Pollard (22 off 5), they posted 161 runs on the board. Earlier in the innings, Dewald Brevis flaunted some great shots to chip in with 29 off 19.
Pat Cummins wreaked havoc on Mumbai Indians’ bowlers
However, when KKR started to chase, they started losing wickets early on while reeling on 35/2 but everything changed for them within the blink of an eye when Pat Cummins started operating. Cummins, who brought the joint-fastest fifty of the IPL, broke the back of MI bowlers and hit them for fun at MCA, Pune. He smashed 56* off 15 to wreak complete havoc and took KKR over the line with four overs remaining, smashing four fours and six sixes.
On the other hand, Venkatesh Iyer played the anchor while smashing an unbeaten 50 off 41 to strengthen the chances of KKR against MI. Bumrah remained wicketless in the game whereas Rana could only produce eight runs from his bat before getting Murugan Ashwin.
