Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Kane Williamson is all set to leave the team’s camp in order to fly back home to be with his wife during the delivery of their baby. The official update of the same was shared by SRH on their official Twitter handle. It is to be noted that this will be Williamson’s second child with his wife Sarah Raheem after they welcomed a baby girl in December 2020.

A lot of cricketers have already left the IPL bio-bubble in order to fulfill their personal commitments. However, with the playoffs race getting intense, teams would be trying their best to fill their voids as well.

“Our skipper Kane Williamson is flying back to New Zealand, to usher in the latest addition to his family. 🧡 Here’s everyone at the #Riser camp wishing Kane Williamson and his wife a safe delivery and a lot of happiness! #OrangeArmy #ReadyToRise,” SRH posted on their official Twitter handle.

Kane Williamson didn’t have a fruitful IPL 2022

The season didn’t go quite well for Williamson as he failed to flaunt his classic colours with just 216 runs in 13 games at a dismal average of 19.64 with just one fifty to his name. Even his strike rate of 93.51 didn’t do any good to the Orange Army.

Talking in terms of how the IPL 2022 unfolded for SRH, the team is currently struggling in the eighth slot with just 12 points in 13 games so far. They won their last league game against MI by three runs in order to keep them alive in the T20 league. They roared back to great form in the middle of the season with five back-to-back victories but hit the rock bottom again with their dismal show. However, they need to win their last league game, and that too with a good margin to better their NRR to qualify for the playoffs where results of other fixtures will also matter as much.
