The new entrants Lucknow Super Giants are one of the most consistent sides in this tournament having played some outstanding brand of cricket so far. In fact, they have been on a roll ever since their loss against the Royal Challengers Bangalore over a fortnight ago and have not looked back since then.

As Lucknow look forward to strengthening their playoff hopes, the franchise has come forward with a noble gesture during their weekend encounter on the occasion of Mother’s Day. They have officially declared what initiative they will be taking just moments before their next IPL 2022 encounter against the Kolkata Knight Riders. All the players will be wearing the jerseys with their mother’s names in their next game.

In fact, LSG have also posted a video of these new jerseys on their official Twitter handle and captioned it as, “This one’s for you, Maa.” Now THAT’s how you prepare for Mother’s Day – the #SuperGiant way!”

The LSG players have been donning a light blue jersey this season but, on the occasion of Mother’s Day, the color has been changed to grey with the players’ mothers’ names and numbers printed in Orange.

LSG are at second position in points table in IPL 2022

The KL Rahul-led side will be locking horns with the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 7 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. KKR will be heading into this clash on the back of a well-deserved seven-wicket win over the Rajasthan Royals. However, they had lost five consecutive games prior to their last victory and cannot afford to falter from here on in order to keep their playoff hopes alive as the league stages near its business end.

As far as LSG are concerned, a win here would take them a step closer to consolidating a playoff berth. They currently occupy the second position in the IPL 2022 points table having won seven out of 10 matches with 14 points to their tally at a superior net run rate of +0.397.
