IPL 2022: Lucknow Super Giants celebrate first win with a victory song in dressing room
Lucknow Super Giants registered their maiden victory against CSK in IPL 2022.
Lucknow Super Giants produced one of the remarkable chases against the Chennai Super Kings in the 7th match of the ongoing IPL 2022 edition at the Brabourne stadium. The KL Rahul-led side managed to chase down a huge target of 211 with three balls left and six wickets in hand, and have recorded their first win of the tournament. They have added two crucial points to their name and have moved into the sixth position in the points table as a result of their triumph.
After losing their first game of the tournament to Gujarat Titans, the Lucknow Super Giants were desperate to get off their mark and they have managed to do it in style. The emotions were there to see as their mentor Gautam Gambhir was quite animated from the dugout. On account of their magnificent victory, the whole team gathered in the dressing room and were singing the Sweet Caroline song by Neil Diamond with notes on their hands to make sure they do not forget the winning moment.

“That winning feeling straight from the locker room!!! ✌🏽 Off the mark! ” The Lucknow Super Giants Official Instagram page had captioned on the video.
On the back of Robin Uthappa’s half-century and contributions from Shivam Dube, Moeen Ali and the middle order ensured that the CSK side was on the track to post a huge total on the board while Ravi Bishnoi was the only bowler who came good for LSG with two for 24 in his fours overs in a relatively batting friendly track.
In reply, Quinton de Kock and Rahul put on 99 for the first wicket and were up and running with the required run rate. However, it came to a stage when they needed more than 14 runs per over in the last five overs with Evin Lewis and Deepak Hooda at the crease. Lewis was in devastating form hitting three sixes and six fours in his unbeaten 23-ball 55 and Ayush Badoni gave the finishing touch with a 9 ball 19 to pull off the chase which looked quite tedious with 34 needed off the last two overs.
