The brand-new Lucknow Supergiants are all set to start their IPL journey against another new franchise, Gujarat Titans, on the March 28 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The LSG management has been rated very highly and their decisions during the IPL 2022 mega auction were spot on. They have almost covered all areas and their biggest strength is going to be their all-rounders. The Lucknow Supergiants have world-class all-rounders in their squad who are set to take the tournament on fire.

They have named the flamboyant and forever charming KL Rahul as their skipper. Lucknow retained Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi alongside KL Rahul just before the mega auction. The players purchased by LSG at the auction were Quinton de Knock (INR 6.25 crores), Manish Pandey (INR 4.6 crores), Jason Holder (INR 8.75 crores), Deepak Hooda (INR 5.75 crores), Krunal Pandya (INR 8.25 crores), Mark Wood (INR 7.50 crores), Avesh Khan (INR 7.50 crores), Ankit Rajpoot (INR 50 lakhs), K Gowtham (INR 90 lakhs), Dushmantha Chameera (INR 2 crores), Shahbaz Nadeem (INR 50 lakhs), Mohsin Khan (INR 20 lakhs), Ayush Badoni (INR 20 lakhs), Kyle Mayers (INR 50 lakhs), Karan Sharma (INR 20 lakhs), Evin Lewis (INR 2 crores), Mayank Yadav (INR 20 lakhs), and B Sai Sudharsan (INR 20 lakhs).

Lucknow Supergiants expected to set the competition on fire 

After the first game against the Gujarat Titans, LSG will take on the Chennai Super Kings on March 31 at the Brabourne Stadium. On the fourth of April, they will get the SRH challenge at the DY Patil Stadium. They will continue to play at the DY Patil Stadium when they will lock horns against the Delhi Capitals on seventh April. They will then face the Rajasthan Royals on 10th April at the Wankhede Stadium. One of the biggest challenges for the Lucknow franchise will be when they will play against the Mumbai Indians at the Brabourne Stadium, it will be their first afternoon game as well. KL Rahul will play against his city franchise the Royal Challengers Bangalore on the 19th of April at the DY Patil Stadium.

They will play their second game against the Mumbai Indians at Wankhede on the 24th of April. The skipper KL Rahul will take on his previous franchise Punjab Kings in their first game outside Mumbai at the MCA Stadium Pune on 29th April. They will take on DC for the second time on May 1 at the Wankhede Stadium. After that, they will play two back-to-back games in Pune against KKR and GT on the seventh and 10th of May respectively. They will come back to the Brabourne Stadium for playing a game against the Rajasthan Royals on May 15th. The Lucknow Supergiants will play their last league game on May 18 against KKR at the DY Patil Stadium.
