Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals will be facing each other in the 10th match of IPL 2022, at MCA International Stadium in Pune. Both teams have played one match in this season so far, and won both. While this is the inaugural IPL season for Gujarat Titans, their opponents Delhi Capitals have topped the group stage and lost both their knockout matches after that.
Both the teams began by being at the victorious side of a tense chase. Despite the Titans getting off to a horrific start with two wickets in no time, Matthew Wade and Hardik Pandya had stabilized the innings. After both of them got out in quick succession, the next two batters in David Miller and Rahul Tewatia shared another huge partnership to take them to the winning line.
With Tewatia and Abhinav Manohar in the middle order having a higher strike-rate than the dangerous Miller, it shows how potent is the Titans finishing abilities. Coming to their bowling, though Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan played well, they need to prove that they won’t be overly dependent on them.
Delhi Capitals had an opening stand between Prithvi Shaw and Tim Seifert which looked solid till the early introduction of spin reduced them to 32/3 all of a sudden. In the absence of Mitchell Marsh, Lalit Yadav played a crucial knock of an unbeaten 48 to seal his spot in the team.
He played the anchor role and shared crucial partnerships with unlikely finishers in Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur. Among their bowlers, only Kuldeep Yadav and Khaleel Ahmed have opened their accounts this season, sharing a total of five wickets.
