Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be facing each other in the 13th match of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While Rajasthan Royals have won both their matches, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have won one and lost one. Last season, Rajasthan finished seventh with five wins, while Bangalore reached the eliminator. Rajasthan Royals have lost both their tosses and yet won both their games after being put in to bat first. RCB, on the other hand, have lost once while batting first, and won once while chasing, too. Both teams will play their first game at the Wankhede Stadium this season.
Jos Buttler, who missed out on the second phase of IPL 2021, has come back with some style in IPL 2022 by scoring the first century of this season. The skipper Sanju Samson has also done well, and the finishing powers of Shimron Hetmyer got them to formidable totals in both matches. These totals could be defended easily with a bowling line-up that boasts of Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, R Ashwin, and Yuzvendra Chahal.
Royal Challengers Bangalore had two different results to begin this IPL season. In the first match, they couldn’t defend a 200+ total against the Punjab Kings at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy Stadium, and then they won a sub-130 chase against the Kolkata Knight Riders after making the game go down the wire. The first match belonged to their top-order batters Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Dinesh Karthik, while the second match belonged to the bowlers in Wanindu Hasaranga, Akash Deep, Harshal Patel, and Mohammed Siraj.
Their middle order, barring Dinesh Karthik, looks fragile and is required to step up once the top order stumbles. In the battle of the Royals, Sanju Samson would look to make it three out of three which will be a dream start for the inaugural champions.
