Rawat scored 66 runs off 47 deliveries which included two fours and six maximums with spinner Hasaranga and Harshal bowling outstanding spells of 2/28 and 2/23 respectively.

Talking about how the encounter unfolded, Faf du Plessis won the toss and RCB decided to field first. They made one change with Australian Glenn Maxwell returning and replacing Sherfane Rutherford. Strugglers MI made two changes as they replaced Tymal Mills and Daniel Sams with Jaydev Unadkat and Ramandeep Singh respectively. The former fell for 16 runs but Rawat continued his solid batting display as he was joined by Virat Kohli who mustered a fluent knock of 48 runs off 36 balls with five fours. Rohit Sharma and his men have now lost four matches in a row this season as RCB with six points moved to number three in the table. MI occupied the penultimate position while CSK hit the rock bottom. For his match-winning and eye-catching half-century, Anuj Rawat was declared Player of the Match.
