The Sunrisers Hyderabad will be facing the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, April 15 in the 25th match of IPL 2022. SRH started their tournament by losing the first two games but bounced back strongly, registering back-to-back victories in their previous two games as they managed to outplay Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans by eight wickets apiece.
The SRH top-order is in great form since the last two matches, and the team will be relying on them once again for their next assignment. SRH will face a setback as their all-rounder Washington Sundar will not be available for the upcoming game due to an injury and thus, the Orange Army will look out for his replacement.
Here’s the predicted Playing XI of Sunrisers Hyderabad for Match 25 of IPL 2022:
Openers: Abhishek Sharma and Kane Williamson (c)
The opening duo is in great form since the past two games. The two have managed to sail past CSK and GT in their previous encounters with the help of some services from the middle-order batters. But Abhishek will continue to play the fierce knocks that he has been playing, and skipper Williamson will manage the pressure and play the composed innings like last two games.
Middle Order: Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk)
SRH’s middle order looks very strong as all the batters have the ability to take the score beyond the line. Rahul Tripathi’s impressive 17*(11) in the previous game helped SRH chase down the score quickly. The No. 3 batter faced a minor injury in the previous game and was retired hurt, but is expected to be back in the upcoming game, playing at his usual position.
Aiden Markram, the South African star, was unbeaten against the Rajasthan Royals as he scored a 41-ball 57 in the game but ended on the losing side. But apart from that one big knock, he hasn’t performed that well in this tournament. He’ll be expected to gear up and take charge.
Nicholas Pooran started off poorly but played a composite knock in the previous encounter. He filled in Tripathi’s shoes after the latter suffered an injury, and remained unbeaten against GT with his 18-ball 38*. He has regained his form and will look to continue making his bat talk.
All-rounders: Shashank Singh, Jagadeesha Suchith
Shashank Singh does not have much experience in IPL but can help the team with the bat as well as the ball. Having played 34 T20 games in the domestic circuit, he has 424v runs to his name which includes three half-centuries. In these games, he also has 10 wickets to his scalp. In the absence of Washington Sundar, he will be a good all-around option.
Jagadeesha Suchith, even before making his way into the domestic team, was a part of the Mumbai Indians setup in the 2015 season. He has the experience of playing with multiple franchises as he represented the Delhi Capitals in 2019, followed by the Punjab Kings in the 2020 edition. He holds the finishing skills with the bat and can be a handy bowler in the team.
Bowlers: Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, Umran Malik, T Natarajan
The SRH bowling attack has been performing well since the past two games as they have managed to restrict the opposition to an average total. Veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has scalped five wickets in four games so far, but he’ll look to avoid giving away those extra runs.
Marco Jansen has one wicket each from both the matches that he has played in the tournament, and both his wickets came in the form of big players like MS Dhoni and David Miller. Umran Malik is known for clocking the fastest delivery in every match that he plays and will carry on the momentum in his next game.
T Natarajan will look forward to maintaining the consistency in the game as he has added two wickets in every match he played so far, taking his tally to eight in four games. The team will depend on him and expect him to give his side the necessary breakthrough.
SRH Playing XI: Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson (c), Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, Jagadeesha Suchith, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, Umran Malik, T Natarajan
