A Nail-biting entertainer took place between the Rajasthan Royals and the Delhi Capitals in Match 34 of IPL 2022 and it could not have had a better finish as more than 400 runs were scored on the day. However, it was yet another victory for the Rajasthan Royals by 15 runs thanks to a superlative batting effort that helped the side to post a big total.

After losing the toss, Rajasthan were put in to bat first at the Wankhede Stadium and the in-form opener Jos Buttler (116 ) continued from where he left in the previous game. The England batter notched up his third century of this IPL and made a merry of the Delhi bowlers while Devdutt Padikkal (54) scored an important half-century as well.

Sanju Samson provided the final kick with a stunning, finish scoring an unbeaten 46 off just 19 deliveries. Shardul Thakur was the only bowler to go under the rate of 10s while all other Delhi bowlers were taken to the cleaners from the assault of orange cap holder Buttler.

Prasidh Krishna bowls a wicket maiden in the 19th over

Delhi Capitals, chasing a humungous score of 223, was off to a blazing start with both openers David Warner and Prithvi Shaw going for the kill. Krishna removed Warner in the 5th over while Sarfaraz Khan was dismissed in the very next over. Rishabh Pant and Shaw kept the side in the hunt with a handy partnership while Lalit Yadav played his part as well once Shaw was dismissed. However, Krishna came for an over in the middle and picked up the important wicket of Pant.

Lalit played some lusty shots towards the end with contributions from Thakur. However, the 19th over from Krishna, which was a wicket maiden, changed the game on its head. Rowman Powell, who surprisingly came in at eight, managed to bring in some hope for the Delhi franchise with three sixes at the start of the final over, but a 50-50 no-ball call had brought about confusion in the dugout and finally, Delhi ended up losing the game despite coming very close.
