IPL 2022, Match 41 DC vs KKR, Stats Review: Kuldeep Yadav's best figures, David Warner's record, and other stats

Kuldeep Yadav haunted his former franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) yet again for the second time this season as he took 4/14 in just three overs to restrict the Knight Riders for 146/9, eventually winning the encounter for Delhi Capitals (DC) by four wickets in Match 41 of IPL 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Kuldeep was duly supported by Mustafizur Rahman who snared three scalps for just 18 runs in his four-over spell.
Speaking about how the match went by, Rishabh Pant won the toss and DC opted to field first. They made two changes with Mitchell Marsh and Chetan Sakariya replacing Sarfaraz Khan and Khaleel Ahmed respectively. KKR made three changes with Sam Billings, Shivam Mavi, and Varun Chakaravarthy making way for Aaron Finch, Harshit Rana, and Baba Indrajith respectively. Sakariya, who played his first IPL match this season, got rid of Finch for just three runs.
Venkatesh Iyer’s lean run in the tournament stretched as he scored just six runs. Skipper Shreyas Iyer made 42 off 37 deliveries with four fours with Indrajith and Sunil Narine managing six and zero respectively. Nitish Rana then took charge as he amassed 57 runs off 34 deliveries with three fours and four maximums. Rinku Singh played a cameo of 23 runs off 16 balls to take KKR’s total to above 140 runs.
Chasing just 147 runs to win, Umesh Yadav continued his magic in the powerplay as he dismissed Prithvi Shaw for a golden duck on the very first ball with a good low catch off his own bowling. David Warner’s good form in this campaign continued as the Aussie scored 42 runs off 26 deliveries which included eight fours. Mitchell Marsh looked in a hurry as he mustered 13 off seven balls before getting dismissed to Harshit Rana. Lalit Yadav who came in to bat at no. four managed 22 runs off 29 balls with captain Pant scoring just two runs.
Axar Patel played scored 24 runs while Rovman Powell remained unbeaten on 33 runs to guide DC to a victory with one over to spare. With this win, DC are now sixth in the table with eight points while KKR struggling at the no. eighth spot with just six points as the loss meant the Knight Riders have now lost five consecutive matches. For his second four-wicket haul this season, the first one of which also came against KKR, Kuldeep Yadav was named the Player of the Match. interestingly, DC has won four matches so far and Kuldeep has grabbed the award in all of the four encounters.

29/2 – KKR registered their lowest powerplay score of 29/2 this season. Their previous lowest was 34/3 against Gujarat Titans.
1018 – David Warner reached the landmark of 1000 runs against KKR in the IPL. He thus became the first batter to score 1000-plus runs against two opponents in the IPL. He has amassed 1005 runs against Punjab Kings.
2020 – Nitish Rana reached the milestone of 2000 runs in the league.
150 – Sunil Narine completed the landmark of 150 wickets in the IPL. He became the first overseas spinner to achieve the feat.
4/14 – Kuldeep Yadav scripted his best bowling figures of 4/14 in the IPL. His previous best was 4/20 against Rajasthan Royals in the year 2018.
400 – Sunil Narine appeared in his 400th T20 match.
1 – Narine is now on top for registering most ducks (11) for KKR in the league. Gautam Gambhir is in the second spot with ten ducks.
150 – Rishabh Pant featured in his 150th T20 match.
50 – Shreyas Iyer played his 50th IPL match as a captain.
4 – Fourth win for DC this season and Kuldeep Yadav has won the Player-of-the-Match awards in all of the four games for the Capitals.

3 – KKR also recorded the third-lowest score (29/2) in the powerplay in IPL 2022. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 14/3 against Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings (27/4) against Punjab Kings.
2 – Nitish Rana and Rinku shared the second-highest seventh-wicket partnership of 62 runs for KKR in the IPL. The highest is 78 runs between Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi against DC in 2020.
502 – Venkatesh completed 5000 runs in the IPL.
2 – Sunil Narine is now joint-second with Rashid Khan for most ducks (11) by an overseas player in the IPL. Glenn Maxwell tops the chart with 12 naughts to his name.
1 – Narine is also now joint-top with Rashid Khan for registering most ducks (32) in T20 cricket.
