The Gujarat Titans will be up against a struggling Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 43 of IPL 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on April 30. They would be heading into this clash oozing with confidence after getting the better of an in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad by five wickets in a last-ball thriller in their last game.

GT is currently placed at the top spot in the IPL 2022 points table with seven wins from eight matches and 14 points to their tally at a net run rate of +0.371. They have been the most consistent team of this tournament with all the players chipping in whenever required. The Titans snatched victory from the jaws of defeat against SRH and they would not be keen on making any changes and stick to the same winning combination.

Here’s the predicted Playing XI of the Gujarat Titans for Match 43 of IPL 2022:

Openers: Wriddhiman Saha (wk) and Shubman Gill

Wriddhiman Saha roared back to form with a blistering knock of 68 runs from 38 deliveries at a strike rate of 178.95. He laid a solid foundation for his side while chasing a stiff target of 196. The veteran stumper looked set for a big one before being castled by an unplayable yorker from Umran Malik.

Shubman Gill on the other hand has not been impressive so far. Even though the youngster has got good starts, he has been unable to convert them into impactful knocks. The promising opener would be eager to make amends against the Bangalore bowling attack.

Middle Order: Abhinav Manohar, David Miller, and Rahul Tewatia

Youngster Abhinav Manohar was dismissed for a golden duck by a yorker from Umran Malik. The emerging batter had scored a match-winning 28-ball 43 against the Rajasthan Royals and would look to regain his form against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

David Miller’s stay at the crease also came to an abrupt end by a thunderous delivery from Umran in the last match. However, he can be a match-winner with some extraordinary performances in the middle and death overs, one such instance was an unbeaten 94 against CSK. He has 237 runs from eight matches. Rahul Tewatia can go berserk in the final over of a run chase which was proven yet again in the last game where he played an outstanding knock of an unbeaten 40 from 21 balls.

All-Rounders: Hardik Pandya (c) and Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan

Skipper Hardik Pandya suffered a rare failure in the previous fixture where he could only manage 10 runs. Nonetheless, the star all-rounder has made a tremendous impact with the bat having amassed 305 runs from seven matches including three half-centuries. With just four scalps to his name so far, the Baroda cricketer would be hoping to make an impression in the wickets column as well.

As usual, Rashid Khan has been great this season as well.  The Afghan leggie has eight wickets to his name from as many appearances this season, but more importantly, he has played two match-winning knocks with the bat. One of them happened to be against the title-holders CSK while the other one came against the Orange Army in their previous fixture.

Bowlers: Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson, Yash Dayal, Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami

Caribbean pacer Alzarri Joseph might have taken only one wicket in the last game but it was the key wicket of opener Abhishek Sharma who was going berserk and was on course to take SRH to a mammoth total. New Zealand speedster Lockie Ferguson is clocking over 150 kmph this season, but he seems to have run out of fire and brimstone. He was GT’s most expensive bowler against Hyderabad having gone wicketless and conceding 52 runs with 25 coming from his final over.

Yash Dayal has been one of Gujarat Titans’ most consistent performers with seven wickets from four matches that he has played so far. Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers for Gujarat in the previous fixture as he finished with figures of 3/39. The senior pacer has 13 wickets from eight appearances.

Here’s the Predicted Playing XI of  Gujarat Titans

Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya (c), Abhinav Manohar, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Alzarri Joseph, Lockie Ferguson, Yash Dayal, Mohammed Shami.
