IPL 2022: One player each team would like to have in their squad from the previous season
IPL teams would surely love to pick their proven players from the previous edition if given an opportunity again.
7. Yuzvendra Chahal (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
Yuzvendra Chahal was an important asset for the Bangalore franchise in the last few years. The leg-spinner is their highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL and many thought that RCB would retain him. However, Chahal was released ahead of the auction and he ended up getting picked by the Rajasthan Royals.
The leg spinner from Haryana was overlooked by RCB in pursuit of getting Wanindu Hasaranga who doubles up as a bowling all-rounder. Much to Royal’s delight, Chahal has been performing exceptionally well this season. He is the leading wicket-taker in this edition of TATA IPL picking up 18 scalps in seven games. He returned figures of 5 for 40 against the Knight Riders which included a hat-trick.
This was his first hat trick in IPL history and one that made Rajasthan come out on top from a tricky situation. Therefore, RCB, with the option of selecting a previous player will take Chahal with both hands, given his composure in between matches and wicket-taking abilities.
