7. Punjab Kings (PBKS) – Ness Wadia & Preity Zinta
Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab) have been owned jointly by Mohit Burman, Ness Wadia, Preity Zinta, and Karan Paul since 2008. Mohit Burman owns Elephant Capital Plc and is also a director of FMCG Brand, Dabur, while Karan Paul is the chairman of Apeejay Surrendra Group, which has businesses in tea, hospitality, shipping, retail, and real estate.
Ness Wadia is also a successful businessman and is the managing director of Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation. He also has a stake in the FMCG company, Britannia Industries. In the IPL 2022 Auction, he was the key member of the think-tank behind selecting the players.
The fourth co-owner is Preity Zinta, who is a popular Bollywood actress. She owns a production house PZNZ Media and is also the owner of Stellenbosch Kings, which features in the Mzansi Super League, the premier South Africa T20 tournament.
