4. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) – RP Sanjeev Goenka Group
The second team to make their debut in the Indian Premier League in this edition is Lucknow Super Giants. They secured the Lucknow franchise after a winning bid of INR 7090 Crores. They have a variety of businesses in the areas of power and energy, carbon black manufacturing, FMCG, media, and entertainment, and are owned by Sanjeev Goenka.
The RPSG Group has an asset base of US $7 billion and a revenue of US $4 billion and is a supplier of power to Kolkata, Noida, Bikaner, and Kota through its flagship company, CESC. It is a subsidiary company of Spencer’s Retail, Firstsource, and Saregama.
The company was also the owner of Rising Pune Supergiant, which featured in the 2016 and 2017 editions of the Indian Premier League.
