The team with the highest winning percentage in the tournament’s history was bought by the leading cement manufacturing company, India Cements, in 2008.  The managing director of India Cements, N Srinivasan, is also a former chairman of the ICC and a former president of the BCCI.
In 2015, Lodha Committee suspended CSK for two years due to match-fixing. The key man behind the scandal was the son-in-law of N Srinivasan, Gurunath Meiyappan. After being found guilty, both Srinivasan and Gurunath Meiyappan were banned from the Indian Premier League.
Then the ownership of Chennai Super Kings was transferred to Chennai Super Kings Ltd, which is a subsidiary of India Cements and has a total of eight directors. The CSK team possesses a net worth of around INR 7600 crores.
