The 15th edition of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Premier League</a> was a blockbuster hit with top-notch entertainment throughout the tournament. During this 74-match-long extravaganza, not a single match was short of talent. IPL has always worked as a neutralizer when it comes to cricket across boundaries.

Year on year, IPL works as an internship for young Indian talent. The selectors later shoot them a pre-placement offer which can land them in the national team if found worthy. This year&#8217;s champions Gujarat Titans gifted Sai Kishore to the world. A total of 56 drafted players did not get a single chance in this IPL.

Even after so many cricketers get a chance through this trial and error dichotomy, a lot have still not got a chance to play. It is a big achievement in getting drafted itself and even a bigger one to enter the field on match day. Let us look at the players from each team who didn&#8217;t even get a chance to play.

Arjun Tendulkar was one of the players who did not get a chance. MI might be keeping and grooming these players until they get ready to face international competition on the ground. Rahul Buddhi, a left-handed batsman was also unable to find a game this season.

Another lefty from Orissa, Subhranshu Senapati who was the leading run-scorer for his side in Vijay Hazare Trophy again couldn&#8217;t find a game. K Bhagath Varma, a 23-year-old right-arm allrounder is known for his spin, though he couldn&#8217;t find a game but has learned a lot from the best in the business. KM Asif, a medium-pacer got one match in the IPL 2021 but was unable to get picked in the playing XI this time.

Delhi Capitals is a team of young lads trying to get their name scripted. Led by <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/if-rishabh-pant-plays-100-tests-his-name-would-be-etched-in-the-history-books-forever-virender-sehwag/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rishabh Pant</a>, DC backs its youngsters pretty well. Even this season, they gave a lot of chances to the new players while experimenting for the right combination.

Ashwin Hebbar is one of the few players who never made it to the playing XI this time. He was Andhra&#8217;s leading run-getter in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and a brilliant right-handed batting alternative. Pravin Dubey got three games in his debut year in 2020, but this time even he was benched for the whole season.

Vickey Ostwal made waves with a brilliant bowling display during India U19’s triumphant World Cup 2022 campaign but still didn&#8217;t get a game in this year&#8217;s IPL. Lungi Ngidi of South Africa was significantly impactful for CSK in the previous edition but still didn&#8217;t get a chance this season to display his effective seam bowling.

After polishing Shubman Gill over the years, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/i-will-keep-following-your-careers-brendon-mccullum-signs-off-while-addressing-kkr-stars-in-emotional-farewell-speech/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KKR</a> too promises to bring the best out of youngsters. Ramesh Kumar, an allrounder from Punjab who is yet to play any representative cricket was bought because of his abilities to spin the ball both ways but couldn&#8217;t get a game this season. Pratham Singh a left-handed batsman also didn&#8217;t make it to the playing XI this season.

Lucknow Super Giants, being a new team in IPL had to do a lot of experiments to find the right combination. LSG gave a lot of young lads a chance to play their debut game this season. Kyle Mayers was bought in for INR 50 lakhs as an all-rounder addition to the team but couldn&#8217;t get a game.

Ankit Rajpoot, the speedster earned a lot of fame playing for Punjab and Delhi in the previous editions. He was also successful in pulling out wickets but due to his high economy, he was dropped from the playing XI this season as well. Mayank Yadav, another bowler also had the opportunity to learn from the best by being in the same dressing room and is yet to make his debut.

Atharva Taide from Vidharba who was bought for INR 20 lakhs for his left-handed all-round abilities was also overlooked. Writtick Chatterjee, the Bengal right-handed batsman has played 27 T20s and has over 260 runs and 21 wickets against his name also couldn&#8217;t find a place in any of the games.

Also, Baltej Dhanda has impressed everyone with his performance in Ranji trophy for Punjab and might get a game next year. Ishan Porel played only one game last season. He has been improving steadily on the domestic front but didn&#8217;t get a game this time.

7. Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore have major names drafted in their squad. Along with the big three &#8211; Kohli, Faf and Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik too was a key player for the side this season. Rajat Patidar emerged as a gift for RCB this season. On the other hand, a lot of other young drafts never got to play.

One of them is Finn Allen, the New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman who couldn&#8217;t get a chance to play this season. Luvnith Sisodia with the same role as Finn, hails from Karnataka and is just 22 years old but he also couldn&#8217;t get into the playing XI of <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/see-you-next-season-virat-kohli-shares-heartfelt-message-after-rcbs-ipl-2022-exit/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RCB</a>. Chama Milind, a left-handed bowler has been striding from one franchise to another for a long time now and is still yet to get a match.

Jason Behrendorff, the southpaw speedster took five wickets in five games last year playing for Chennai but never got a chance to play this season. Karn Sharma, a well-known Indian capped spinner also didn&#8217;t get a game this time. He has been a decent wicket-taker but couldn&#8217;t gain the captain’s trust this year. Aneeshwar Gautam is another young lad who is only 19 years old and is a batting allrounder and has the ability to play at the highest level soon.

Sunrisers Hyderabad had an unusual season. Captain <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/we-compare-abdullah-shafique-to-kane-williamson-and-rahul-dravid-babar-azam/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kane</a> was too off with the bat this season and also the team was unable to find their rhythm this time. Ravikumar Samarth hailing from Karnataka has a rich domestic cricket experience but never got to play this time. Glenn Phillips, wicketkeeper-batsman from New Zealand got three games last season but was benched all the time this year.

Vishnu Vinod, a Karnataka wicketkeeper-batsman has represented Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past but never got to play this season. Also, Sushant Mishra was another replacement for Saurabh Dubey. This left-handed pacer also couldn&#8217;t play but must have learnt a lot.

Dhruv Jurelwas, the wicketkeeper-batsman who was named as the vice-captain of India’s U19 World Cup side that took part in the 2020 edition couldn&#8217;t find a game this season. Anunay Singh was another youngster who never got to play even after his impressive bowling for Bihar in Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy. Shubham Garhwal, a lefty bowler was bought at the end of the mega auctions and is yet to display his cricket to the world.

KC Cariappa has played regularly till 2017 and again got to play in 2019. The spinner didn&#8217;t get to play a single game for Rajasthan this season. Kuldip Yadav is another bowler in the RR camp whose swing and slightly slingy action can trouble the batters but was not put to use this year. Royal Challengers Bangalore have major names drafted in their squad. Along with the big three – Kohli, Faf and Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik too was a key player for the side this season. Sunrisers Hyderabad had an unusual season. Captain <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/we-compare-abdullah-shafique-to-kane-williamson-and-rahul-dravid-babar-azam/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kane</a> was too off with the bat this season and also the team was unable to find their rhythm this time. Glenn Phillips, wicketkeeper-batsman from New Zealand got three games last season but was benched all the time this year.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The runners-up of IPL 2022, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/ill-give-you-your-money-back-no-room-for-favouritism-shane-warne-almost-left-rajasthan-royals-ahead-of-ipl-2008/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rajasthan Royals</a> entered the finals after 14 long years, mainly due to the combined team effort they had put in. Many youngsters were unable to get a game this season. Sanju Samson was proud of his side at the end.

The winners in their debut season, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/gujarat-titans-a-fairytale-of-ipl-2022/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gujarat Titans</a> had a lot to prove. GT was also criticized for being a weak team as it was a squad that was made from scratch. Although a lot of young guns found their place in the playing XI, some still didn’t get a chance.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz, one of the youngsters representing Afghanistan came in as a replacement for Jason Roy but still was unable to get a game this year. Dominic Drakes, a tall fast bowler from West Indies was also unable to find a place in the playing XI.&nbsp;&nbsp;
Gurkeerat Singh Mann has been a part of IPL since 2012 but has been unable to play regularly. He has a total of 511 runs in 41 matches of his IPL career and plays the role of a finisher. In the presence of Rahul Tewatia and David Miller, it became evident that he will be benched as well. Noor Ahmad, a 17-year-old lefty from Afghanistan is yet to make his debut. Jayant Yadav who is famous for his spin got regular games till 2021. He is a senior in the domestic circuit but did not fit in the playing XI this year.

The 15th edition of the <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Indian Premier League</a> was a blockbuster hit with top-notch entertainment throughout the tournament. During this 74-match-long extravaganza, not a single match was short of talent. IPL has always worked as a neutralizer when it comes to cricket across boundaries.
Year on year, IPL works as an internship for young Indian talent. The selectors later shoot them a pre-placement offer which can land them in the national team if found worthy. This year&#8217;s champions Gujarat Titans gifted Sai Kishore to the world. A total of 56 drafted players did not get a single chance in this IPL.
Even after so many cricketers get a chance through this trial and error dichotomy, a lot have still not got a chance to play. It is a big achievement in getting drafted itself and even a bigger one to enter the field on match day. Let us look at the players from each team who didn&#8217;t even get a chance to play.

<a href="https://www.crictracker.com/3-players-mumbai-indians-can-target-if-jofra-archer-gets-ruled-out-of-ipl-2023/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mumbai Indians</a> have always been a frontrunner in producing young prodigies of cricket. They focus on investing greatly in the potential of players during the auctions. To give their future team a better strength, they buy players on the base price who can later work out well.
Arjun Tendulkar was one of the players who did not get a chance. MI might be keeping and grooming these players until they get ready to face international competition on the ground. Rahul Buddhi, a left-handed batsman was also unable to find a game this season.
Right-handed wicketkeeper-batsman from Uttar Pradesh, Aryan Juyal was overlooked as well this season. Mohd. Arshad Khan, another left-handed allrounder did not find a single chance to play even when Mumbai was playing with nothing to lose. Akash Madhwal, who came in as a replacement for Suryakumar Yadav also didn&#8217;t get to play.

<h3>2. Chennai Super Kings</h3>

This season came out to be one of the worst for <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/stop-looking-at-me-and-bowl-csk-throwdown-specialist-reveals-first-meeting-with-ms-dhoni/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CSK</a>. The stalwarts and the retained players performed in an on-and-off mode which was a major factor in their inconsistent performance throughout this season. A lot of other debutants took the field wearing the yellow jersey but some still didn’t get a single game.
Rajvardhan Hangargekar, part of the U-19 WC winning Indian squad, who performed well in that world cup was overlooked in team selection. C Hari Nishaanth, a left-handed batsman representing Tamil Nadu had a good domestic season but still didn&#8217;t get to play.
Another lefty from Orissa, Subhranshu Senapati who was the leading run-scorer for his side in Vijay Hazare Trophy again couldn&#8217;t find a game. K Bhagath Varma, a 23-year-old right-arm allrounder is known for his spin, though he couldn&#8217;t find a game but has learned a lot from the best in the business. KM Asif, a medium-pacer got one match in the IPL 2021 but was unable to get picked in the playing XI this time.

<h3>3. Delhi Capitals</h3>

Delhi Capitals is a team of young lads trying to get their name scripted. Led by <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/if-rishabh-pant-plays-100-tests-his-name-would-be-etched-in-the-history-books-forever-virender-sehwag/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rishabh Pant</a>, DC backs its youngsters pretty well. Even this season, they gave a lot of chances to the new players while experimenting for the right combination. 
Ashwin Hebbar is one of the few players who never made it to the playing XI this time. He was Andhra&#8217;s leading run-getter in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and a brilliant right-handed batting alternative. Pravin Dubey got three games in his debut year in 2020, but this time even he was benched for the whole season. 
Vickey Ostwal made waves with a brilliant bowling display during India U19’s triumphant World Cup 2022 campaign but still didn&#8217;t get a game in this year&#8217;s IPL. Lungi Ngidi of South Africa was significantly impactful for CSK in the previous edition but still didn&#8217;t get a chance this season to display his effective seam bowling.

<h3>4. Kolkata Knight Riders</h3>

After polishing Shubman Gill over the years, <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/i-will-keep-following-your-careers-brendon-mccullum-signs-off-while-addressing-kkr-stars-in-emotional-farewell-speech/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KKR</a> too promises to bring the best out of youngsters. Ramesh Kumar, an allrounder from Punjab who is yet to play any representative cricket was bought because of his abilities to spin the ball both ways but couldn&#8217;t get a game this season. Pratham Singh a left-handed batsman also didn&#8217;t make it to the playing XI this season. 
Mohammad Nabi, famous for his pioneer work for Afghanistan cricket was surprisingly left out of the game this season. Chamika Karunaratne, a right-handed allrounder from Srilanka debuted for his national side in 2019 but was benched for this season of IPL. 
Medium-pacer Ashok Sharma from Rajasthan has been a net bowler in the past for Rajasthan Royals and has impressed everyone with his ability to swing the ball. He couldn&#8217;t get a game this season but has the potential and he might play from the next season onwards.

<h3>5. Lucknow Super Giants</h3>

Lucknow Super Giants, being a new team in IPL had to do a lot of experiments to find the right combination. LSG gave a lot of young lads a chance to play their debut game this season. Kyle Mayers was bought in for INR 50 lakhs as an all-rounder addition to the team but couldn&#8217;t get a game. 
Ankit Rajpoot, the speedster earned a lot of fame playing for Punjab and Delhi in the previous editions. He was also successful in pulling out wickets but due to his high economy, he was dropped from the playing XI this season as well. Mayank Yadav, another bowler also had the opportunity to learn from the best by being in the same dressing room and is yet to make his debut.
Shahbaz Nadeem, a spinning all-rounder got only one match in the previous <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/bcci-announce-inr-1-25-crore-reward-money-for-curators-and-groundsmen-of-six-ipl-2022-venues/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IPL</a> as well. He was not included in the playing XI even once this season. He has a total of 48 wickets to his name in his entire IPL career.
