Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals will be locking horns in the first qualifier of IPL 2022, to be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. In the league stage of this season, GT won ten and lost four matches, while RR won nine and lost five. When both the teams faced each other earlier in the season, Gujarat Titans won by a margin of 37 runs.
The opening pair Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill were out of form in the first half for the Gujarat Titans but have shown signs of promise in the last few matches. Matthew Wade could not produce a single good knock across nine innings this season. Captain Hardik Pandya has lost his touch after being phenomenal in the first half of the season, however, Rashid Khan and Mohammed Shami have been excellent with the ball, taking 18 wickets apiece.
20-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in good form for the Rajasthan Royals, with two fifties in the last four matches, although his opening partner Jos Buttler has been completely out of form in the last few matches. Meanwhile, Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer have been brilliant, and the bowling unit of Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, R Ashwin, and Yuzvendra Chahal has been top class this season.
