IPL 2022: Ranking teams based on the performance of their retained players
The 8 existing teams retained some of the players the two new sides signed 3 players each ahead of the mega auction.
3. Lucknow Super Giants
Well, LSG in its first IPL season has almost made it to the playoffs. Their ultra-dynamic squad has allowed them to play a ruthless brand of cricket. Starting from their skipper, yet again KL Rahul has profusely scored. From his 12 games, Rahul has amassed 459 runs at an average of almost 46.
However, their other two retained players have been quite poignant. Particularly, the Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has terribly struggled. So far his strike rate of 150 has been his best contribution. Perhaps even Ravi Bishnoi, the leg-spinner has slightly gone off-track.
As of now, Bishnoi has scalped 9 wickets in his 11 games. Maybe his wicket tally could have been more abundant, especially as a hunting spinner. Overall, the Lucknow franchise is rightfully ascending and might even grab the top two spots.
