7. Mumbai Indians – 6.5/10
Mumbai Indians became the first team to get disqualified from the playoffs this season. The five-time champions MI have now lost eight games in a row. They are still at the tenth position in the points table and do not seem to be moving from there anytime soon. Other than not finding a win this season, the big names in the side are yet to deliver match-winning performances.
Mumbai lost by 36 runs against Lucknow earlier this week. A 169-run target was handed over to Mumbai but the latter only managed to score 132 runs at the end of 20 overs. Krunal Pandya emerged as a nightmare for his ex franchise as he got wickets of Rohit Sharma, Pollard, and Daniel Sams.
In the captain vs captain rivalry, Kl Rahul surely came out with flying colors and scored a ton with a strike rate of 160+. As Mumbai is out of the race for playoffs now, it’s time for the side to test their bench strength and find a better winning combination. The team now has the chance to go full as they have nothing to lose.
