Rohit Sharma couldn’t make his bat talk on his 35th birthday as veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed him for just two runs. The Mumbai Indians captain, who has been short of runs lately, was watchful during the first few balls he faced against Rajasthan Royals. However, while trying to smash Ashwin for a boundary, the veteran batter gave an easy catch to Daryl Mitchell at backward square.
Needless to mention, Rohit was disappointed walking back cheaply and so was his wife Ritika Sajdeh, who was enjoying the game from the stands. Notably, Ashwin’s wife Prithi was also present at the venue and was sitting near Ritika. Although she would have been delighted with her husband taking a crucial wicket, Prithi also felt for Ritika. She walked up to Rohit’s wife and gave her a consoling hug. The video of the same went viral on social media.

Mumbai Indians record their first win in IPL 2022
Meanwhile, MI had the last laugh in the contest as they finally recorded their maiden victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Rohit Sharma’s men were dominant throughout the game and walked away with a five-wicket triumph. The likes of Riley Meredith, Hrithik Shokeen, and Kumar Kartikeya were brilliant with the ball as RR were restricted to 158/6 while batting first at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai.
MI’s reply wasn’t really smooth as the game went right down to the wire. However, thanks to a brilliant half-century from Suryakumar Yadav, the five-time champions crossed the line with four deliveries remaining at the end. While Rohit would have liked to make his bat talk, he was pleased with the outcome.
“I’d definitely take it (win), that’s how we play, real potential came out today, with the ball specially. They kept applying the pressure. If you keep taking wickets, it’s going to be difficult for them, we did that perfectly today. This is the team we played in the first couple of games except few bowling changes,” said Rohit after the match.
