IPL 2022: RCB comes up with savage response to LSG’s ‘tumse na ho payega’ tweet after 18-run win
Ahead of the game, LSG called RCB their ‘beta (son)’ while announcing their playing XI.
Social media banters between IPL franchises aren’t new. While the friendly exchanges entertain fans most of the time, the franchises have found themselves in hot waters on a few occasions. On Tuesday, the official Twitter handle of Lucknow Super Giants called Royal Challengers their ‘beta (son)’ while announcing their playing XI for the game. It was an open challenge for RCB, and the LSG admin backed his side to clinch the contest.
However, as it turned out, the KL Rahul-led side lost the contest by 18 runs after failing to chase down 182 at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. Skipper Faf du Plessis and Josh Hazlewood put up terrific performances as the Bangalore-based side recorded their fifth win in the season. As the Red Army clinched the on-field contest, the RCB admin didn’t miss out on mocking LSG for their earlier tweet.
Lucknow Super Giants’ tweet didn’t age well
Reacting to the post, RCB posted a GIF of a popular dialogue from South Indian movie ‘KGF.’ “If you think you are bad, I am your dad,” read the GIF. The post went viral in no time as netizens lauded the RCB admin for the savage response. At the same time, the LSG admin was trolled for claiming ‘RCB beta, tumse na ho payega (RCB son, you can’t do it).’
Meanwhile, the game proceeded like a rollercoaster as LSG started off well, dismissing Anuj Rawat and Virat Kohli in the very first over of the game. However, skipper Faf du Plessis didn’t put his guards down and played a remarkable knock. He scored 96 off just 64 deliveries as RCB posted 181/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, LSG looked in the hunt for the best part despite losing wickets at regular intervals. However, Josh Hazlewood’s four-wicket haul meant the Lucknow-based team was restricted to 163/8, losing the contest by 18 runs. Du Plessis was named the Player of the Match for his stunning knock.
